Happy Bday Big Guy!!

Today Danny turned 8!!

He got his wish for breakfast - a donut :)

He opened his big present and promptly got his entourage set up around him!

If you look closely you can see that Gerri is standing beside the bed!!

Sssshhhhh - don't tell him all the activities are educational!!

We then headed down to Auntie's to swim. It was still pretty cold up here by the ocean, but the weather was beautiful at auntie's! Dan is making the big splash with his cannonball!

Everyone swam and swam as Carla and I ran errands and did some shopping. I got Dan some goodies - clams:

Yum!! (NOT!!)

And Lobster!!!

The kids were fascinated!!

Gerri was NOT impressed!

But she DID try it! (didn't like it)

It then started to rain so we headed inside for a bit. Uncle Mike entertained the girls:

Then the rain stopped so Danny could have his cake!

He got more gifts - this time from Nana - Zhu Zhu's!

Smart Nana bought one for each of the kids!

He also got this habitat for them!!

Everyone was very tired when we left at 8:00.

Danny and Gerri both fell asleep during the ride back :)

We drove up to Maine to visit DJ, Dan's son. It was a beautiful day!

We had a great  bbq of steak tips that were awesome!

We left in time to hit weekend traffic so we took the scenic route back to Rockport!

By the time we got back it was about 5 and still really nice so we ran inside, hit  the potty, put our suits on and ran to the beach!!

Danny was very intent on his creation too!

We stayed an hour and then tried to dry off and get as much sand of as possible before getting into my car.

Gerri had sand everywhere!!!! But she has SO much fun!

We had a quick dinner of leftovers, long tubbies and then bed!

A busy day!

Danny & I had a busy morning :)

We did schoolwork :)

We hung around the cottage for a bit since the weather was not the greatest :(

Then we went to my sister's so the kids could run around and play

Ms V took her nap, fighting it the whole way :)

Cousins got home from school and they played playdoh and watched tv

Gerri LOVED playing the electric keyboard

Dan watched over the kids while I went to my brother-in-law's mom's wake.
She is dancing with Jesus, no longer sick. Wishing you safely on your journey!

There was no screaming or blood when we got back, the kids were ok too :)

Danny asked lots of questions about the wake, wanted me to take pictures and asked and asked all night.

Hopefully it will get a bit warmer so the kids can play at the beach!

Happy Early Bday Big Man!

I picked up these beach badmitton sets and the kids had SO much fun!

We left Rockport to head down to the NorthShore mall.

They had a play area and the kids had a lot of fun. They played or about 45 minutes.

Then it was time to head to Bugab** Creek for Danny's Early Family Birthday Dinner.

All the kids were so excited to be together. Ms Gerri ended the party by promptly throwing up all over the kids table! Oh man! So happy everyone was done eating!
I think she just over did it, ate way too much and drank ALL of her drink. Too much excitement :(
We stopped on our way back to the cottage to get some kids tums and motrin.
I think she was very embarrassed. She kept asking me if it was ok and I told her stuff happens, don't worry about it. :(

No Parties??

Kind of a cloudy day today so we did some driving and visited some of our old haunts.

We drove all over the north shore.

We did our annual visit to Nonna and Papa, Dan's parents

This is another tradition, Dan and the kids looking over the pond that his parents will forever look over

We stopped off for a visit with a very old friend of Dan's - friends since grammar school!

They are SO nice and hopefully we will have time to get together again before we leave.

We had another meal that was on our list - Roast Beef! Yum!

We checked out another beach near our cottage and it was really nice!

Unfortunately we did not have suits, towels or sand toys with us.

I did this in the sand - all the kids names

We took Gerri down into the sand for the first time!! She was just fascinated!
