 We got so many great comments about Gerri. The last time many of the cub scout families saw her she was in the wheelchair and today she walked in with her walker. At home the wheelchair sits by the front door for school. Most of the time the walker sits in the corner by the fish tank. She is now walking out in the back yard by herself and NO walker. She has gained SO much balance and confidence it is amazing. Danny and Victoria do not think she has any special need at all. Here is a short video from today of Gerri and Ms V playing before lunch!!

A long weekend!

Danny needed his hair cut and would not do it for Dan so I took him and made him do it!!

We celebrated by heading to BK and Gerri was SO excited to be able to go into the climbing structure!!

She made it all the way to the TOP!!

She climbed all over! and had so much fun!!

She used her entire body! and stood a lot!!

Proof the others were there too :) They ran and ran!

We then spent time with playdoh - making cakes and cupcakes!

It has been rainy and yucky all weekend!! That so stinks when the kids are off school for 4 days!! Hopefully the library will be open tomorrow! :) AND we won't even speak about the Patriots!! !#@$^%$^*&^&

Don't even ask how long it took Dan, Danny and I to do this!!!

We had to call Se*rs service since our ice maker was not working. The kids loved watching him!

Turns out there is a service bulletin out for the lights burning and melting!!! We did not even notice :)

It is cold enough so she can wear her new fluffy jacket!! Yes in the 30's!!

Last night while the boys were at cub scouts I gave Gerri a snip!!

OMG!!! She looks SO cute!! She loves it! She looks like a big girl now!

We also got our appointment for Shriners!!! Gerri has her evaluation appointment the end of the month!!
Let's hope there isn't too much snow!! We are STILL waiting on her walker attachments!! Let's not talk about that!
For those that have asked, Gerri has a leg length difference of about 2 inches. Her left hip is the one affected by her arthrogryposis and when she had surgery in Ukraine to put it back in the hip joint and have the bone graft done to create a hip socket she lost a good inch of leg length. She already had a leg length difference, but now it is worse. Since her feet are not quiet flat that adds a little to the difference too.
Hopefully the Dr at Shriners will give us more information about what we can do. We are pretty sure she will need more casting for her feet :(  We shall see!!

A little sisterly love :)

So what did everyone else do today?? I spent 2 hours at the oral surgeon! They were nice enough to call me to ask if I wanted to come in earlier as they had an opening, well, absolutely, why not?!?!? The Dr was very nice, I told him that I enjoyed root canals so much that I liked to have them done twice!
I plugged in my ipod touch and listened to tunes while he drilled and drilled and drilled.
He commented on how badly infected my tooth was. I actually had 2 abcesses. All I can say is that the smell when he opened up my tooth actually gagged me. He told me that I have to be very careful of the infection trying to move elsewhere, like to my gums. I am on a strong antibiotic and strong pain pill. My face was actually numb all the way up to my left eye, including my left nostril! the kids thought it was pretty funny....
So I would like to say sorry to any of my families that I have emailed with today, in case I did not make sense or asked for things over again  :) :)
I almost fell asleep helping Danny and Gerri with their homework :) I SO hope I can finally sleep!! They kept asking me to say different things and then they laugh when I try.

I did manage to call Shr*ners today to see about getting Gerri's evaluation appt scheduled, but because of snow the 1 person that does appts was not able to be at work, hopefully she will be able to make it tomorrow :)

Birthday Party :)

Ms V was invited to a party and they had DONKEYS!!!

Ms V could NOT leave the donkeys!

Every time I could not find her she was here!

Gerri thought they were horses :)

They both did the swings and slide!

There was a magician, and the kids got to spin plates!!

The birthday girl was the center of attention!

She pulled colors out of the bag to paint a picture!

Typical guy - he had several, each bigger than the last one! He threw them WAY up high!

They made a balloon turn into a rabbit!!

He then made balloon things for everyone

The girls had flowers made!!

they also had a little doggie that was a big hit!

The kids also did a zip line!!

 

The boys had boy time :) finishing up Danny's pine derby car and target practice with his bb.

It took a couple of days to post this, the party was Saturday. Both Gerri and Victoria got fevers Saturday night :( Gerri's was not too bad, but Ms V's was up to 103!! So both laid low Sunday with lots of fluids and tylenol.

I got a really bad toothache Saturday night and ended up at the dentist today. Nothing worse than a root canal, except having to have a root canal redone!!and now I have an absess :( and the tooth has a cap on it! ARGH!

Dan had to have a root canal redone this am and now I have to go to the oral surgeon tomorrow!

and yes, the same dentist did the root canal's years ago in a different city!

But danny is doing good!! :)
