Adoption Update!

We got an updated photo of our new little one!!
A family from Reece's Rainbow is there now adopting a little one from the same orphanage and was able to get us this photo on Thanksgiving!!  She has had another surgery and has a cast on her hips so was stuck in bed :(  But the family said she is such a happy smiley little girl!  Danny is amazed that she has lost her two big front teeth! He has his first one loose now.

We have all our paperwork done for our dossier except immigration approval. Pretty amazing since it has only been three weeks since we committed to Svetlana!!  I got an email from our local immigration office and they have our file and our fingerprint letters went out in the mail today!!!
As soon as we get this letter we can drive the 20 minutes to their office and get our fingerprints done.
Then all we wait for is approval. Now that I know they answer emails they are in big trouble :)
It is amazing how much easier a dossier is the 5th time around :) :)

She is adorable! Hopefully things will continue to move forward for you and there will be few bumps in the road. Hey, it's not a completely impossible. Some do happen like that, believe it or not!

Just a thought to file in the back of your head just in case you need it someday...she may not have lost those two front teeth. They may have been pulled. For more on that one, check out my archives. Hopefully for her, they came out on their own.

What a beauty. And yes, I *could* have my emails sent to my cell phone *if* I know how to do that technological stuff and *if* I carried a cell phone with me. But being the technologically challenged person I am (and choose to be ), I don't have that option!LOL.

Answer: There's a link to my archives are on my right sidebar. Click on the arrow next to 2007 then on the one next to July. The word "dentist" is in the title of both posts relating to the subject.

Amazingly, he did really well at the dentist once we finally got him home. He was, of course, very hesitant his first visit, but we eventually got him there with a strict promise that American dentists actually USE medicine to make whatever he did not hurt.

And what did our trusted American dentist find? A LOT of gunk that still needed to be cleaned off and about 1/4 of the infamous pulled tooth still in his jaw that had to be removed...this time with happy gas and novacaine. Apparently the tooth had broken into pieces when it was pulled the first time. Really? You're kidding! Can't imagine how THAT could have happened! We also thought my son had just lost his missing front teeth, but that wasn't the case. x-rays once home revealed that they had obviously been pulled well before the permanent teeth developed. Thankfully, when they were ready, his permanent teeth came in just fine.

I’m holding a $1 challenge over at www.findingkirilsfamily.blogspot.com, on the countdown to Christmas. Kiril is a little boy with significant special needs who has been waiting on Reece’s Rainbow for a long time, and has been bedridden in an institution for over 6 months now. My goal is to get as many people as possible to donate just ONE dollar to Kiril’s RR grant, and then pass this message on to just ONE other person of their choice.

I’ve contacted many people about this already, in the hopes that they will SPREAD THE WORD, EVEN IF THEY CAN’T DONATE. To date, there’s been an amazing response, but Kiril’s path home is still far from sure. I know it is usually against the unwritten ‘rules’ of blogging to ask an adopting family for anything – and I can see why. But if you are part of a loving, supportive community, which might be inclined to help in spreading this message and saving this little boys life, I humbly ask that you let them know about this fundraiser. I have great faith that together, we can give Kiril hope and a future THIS Christmas. Thank you.
